I designed The Inner Beauty Makeover as a course for you to explore what "inner beauty" looks like and feels like especially for you.
Like with a physical makeover, it is scary for parents, caretakers, yesmen/yeswomen, and over-givers or recovering people-pleasers, (like myself) to simply desire to look and feel more beautiful, strong, and refreshed.
Putting ourself first seems scary only because we were taught that it is selfish, rude, and unfair...and that type of unhealthy thinking has grown on us into adulthood.
Ooooooh! How Exciting!
The inspiration from this course comes from the video above. In May 2017, I received the honor of winning a complete makeover from a team of stylists just in time for mother's day! So cool right?
My favorite part of the makeover was five minutes and forty-two seconds in. If you go back and replay it at the 05:42:00 mark, you'll see the face of someone who has realized that they deserve everything they want and more.
Just a couple of weeks before this makeover, my house was raided by a drug enforcement task force as they searched for the father of my children, the weapons he used, and the things he stole from a string of armed robberies. This traumatizing event was the first in a series of events in 2017 that led to me finally choosing myself first.
I endured events like these for all of my life by choosing to put that man for 10 years, my kids, my family, friends, community, and businesses before myself. I was burnt out, drained, and tired of giving, and giving, and giving all while the person whom I thought was the love of my life was deliberately destroying the life we tried to build together.
I was done with putting myself last.
But ofcourse, it took some time to get to where I'm at today in my people-pleasing recovery journey.
Instead of solely choosing myself first, I got into three other horrible relationships, 6 months each to men who were obviously unfit for my new healhtier lifestyle choices. One was addicted to video games, and the other two addicted to alcohol. The first or whom was addicted to video games ended up stalking me for a period of over 9 months after we broke up and shortly after I craved the warmth and security of a man and tried to see if dating again was the solution I needed.
None of the relationships worked out as I continued to remind myself that I deserve nothing but the best, and that I did not have to settle for unequipped, toxic, and unhealthy partners.
I thought...
"I want better!
I deserve better!
So
why do I keep getting myself involved in these horrible relationshipS and SItuations?"
And like a lightning bolt, the realization struck through my body that
"I am the reason this is happening"
and I repeated the phrase over and over and over again...

BUT WHY?
...and when I realized I had the power to change my life because I was ALLOWING all these horrible things to happen to me, I was so relieved! I felt such an amazing joy that my emotional health was finally starting to feel better. Because I have the power to change!
So I challenged myself to choose myself first, make better choices, implement better boundaries, and self care like never before.
And that's when more amazing things started to come my way. I was a literal manifestation magnet and manifestation isn't something that was new to me at all!
I've won contests, awards, prizes, and more since I was a little girl. I've been a high performing student all my life. I'm a multi-award winning entrepreneur, advocate, artist, and author.
But this time around, I wasn't just celebrating the wins. I was celebrating the wisdom, too!
Because for the first time in my life the best relationship I ever had was the relationship with myself.
As I became more and more transparent with my journey and comfortable in sharing my truths, my uglies, my past, and my process, I started to get such a tremendous amount of feedback from strangers, followers, customers, clients, friends, family members, my children, and most importantly, myself. My negative self talk, excuses, and deflective dark humor started to dwindle...
